January 30: Club Meeting at Des Moines Yacht Club, 6:30 p.m. All members welcome.
March 11: Des Moines Yacht Club Commodore's Ball. Seabacs members traditionally attend a number of Commodore Balls in the Puget Sound region, including this annual dinner/dance. Members are eligible for reimbursement of half the registration fee to attend local yacht club Commodore Balls.
March 30: Club Meeting at Des Moines Yacht Club, 6:30 p.m. All members welcome. Membership applications and cards will be available. The meeting will take place in the upstairs meeting room. Plenty of free parking.
April 15: Tacoma Yacht Club Daffodil Festival. We have the required five-member team secured to compete in the Trivia Contest at the Tacoma Yacht Club on Saturday, April 15. Plan to arrive at about noon to watch the fun. Several members are planning to moor boats at TYC that weekend.
May 12: South Sound Opening Day at Des Moines Yacht Club weekend celebration begins with Complimentary Happy Hour and Check-in from 2 to 5 p.m. at the Des Moines Float Pavillion. Complimentary appetizers at 6 p.m., BYOB. Outdoor music and lawn games at 7 p.m.
May 13: South Sound Opening Day at Des Moines Yacht Club weekend continues. Complimentary breakfast at 8 a.m. Official Flag Ceremony at 3 p.m. in the DMYC Ballroom, officers in dress white uniform. 80s-themed happy hour at 6 p.m.; dinner at 7 p.m.; 80s dancing from 8 to 11 p.m. Dinner/dancing $35pp, mail checks by 4/21 to Des Moines Yacht Club / South Sound Opening, P.O. June 2 - 4 Cruise/Rendezvous at Kingston Marina: Prime spots are secured on the dock for the weekend. This is a drive-in / ferry-in friendly location. On Saturday, you can enjoy the Kingston Kiwanis Brewfest and on Sunday, you can enjoy the Kingston Public Market; both events will take place at the nearby marina park. June 3: Possible meeting at or near the Kingston Marina. If we have a quorum, we may call a meeting to discuss and confirm upcoming scheduled events.
July 3 - 5 Cruise / Anchor Out: Meet in Lake Washington or at any point along the way. July 3: Cruise Lake Washington, through the locks, to anchor-out in Poulsbo's Liberty Bay. On July 4, cruise to Seattle's Lake Union to anchor-out and watch the Seattle fireworks show. July 5 cruise back to Lake Washington.
Sept. 1 - 4 Labor Day Weekend: Boat-in / drive-in / ferry-in to the Bremerton marina to enjoy the annual Blackberry Festival, hosted at the Bremerton marina. Six slips are reserved. If you'd like a slip, contact Rick Petterson as soon as possible; the marina often fills to capacity this weekend.
Oct. 1 - 4: RV/Land Cruise, Grayland Beach State Park (south of Westport, WA). Year-round camping park with more than a mile of beach. Details to come.
